COPPER COUNTRY PASTY SHOP

Cornish Pasties Yooper Style (Upper Peninsula of Michigan)

What about pasties?

Pasties originated in the mining towns of British Cornwall. Perfect food to fill the stomachs of the hard working miners. When the Cornish immigrants came to the United States to work in the copper mines of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (U.P.) they brought along their awesome mining food, pasties. Now from one end of the U.P. to the other you can find pasty shops. Even though the same mining company started mining in Bisbee and Globe Arizona the pasty craze didn’t grow along with it. I have enjoyed bringing pasties back to the area. Now you can find versions of the pasty all over the world especially in mining areas.

The bite sized pasties are a perfect size! Best lunch ever! Thank you Copper Country Pasty Shop! Yum! 💜

Given my history in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and longing since moving to the southwest for a good pasty, look no further than this shop! Every time I’ve reached out, they are quick to respond and follow up with any/all requests. They have brought the unique green chili flavor to pasties, which is something you won’t find in Upper Michigan, yet is a wonderful addition! The Vegan and Chorizo Chili is also very tasty! You sometimes can find her at Farmer’s Markets but even better, message them what your looking for and either opt to pick up or delivery, they are there for you!
